This will be a live, virtual program
Monday, February 1, 2021, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. US / EDT, $35.00
The light of Brigid be about me
On my going out and on my coming in.
May she walk before me on every road.
May she stand behind me at every challenge.
May she hold the map of my journey
And bring me safely home at journey's end.
Tending Brigid's Flame
Whether we feel undone by the long dark of winter or a harsh and confounding ordeal, we require the aid and wisdom of a strong and capable spirit ally, and there is none so many-faceted nor luminous as Brigid, triple goddess and revered saint of the Celtic people.
On her Imbolc feast day, February 1st, we will both invoke and celebrate this powerful beacon of the Divine Feminine, known to the ancients as a Mother of Life, and to Celtic Christians as Mary of the Gaels. A worker of miracles, a bringer of spring, an inspiration to poets, artists, healers, and mothers, this Celtic luminary Brigid, whose very name means “fiery arrow,” will help us to pierce our dark-ness. Turning to story, ritual, practice and prayer, we will explore all the many strengths and gifts Brigid can bestow upon our weary souls, fortifying us, so that we can move forward in a more empowered and enlightened way, ultimately emerging from our troubles, renewed and blessed.
This Program is part of Mercy by the Sea’s ongoing Celtic Prayer Circle and is offered in partnership with Mercy Ecology.
