Earth Altars - Creating with Nature; Embracing Impermanence
With Jan Blencowe
Sunday, May 3, 2020, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
$75 (includes lunch); materials will be provided by Mother Earth.
Connecting with nature in reverential ways brings you into closer contact with the beauty and energy of the Earth. Find mindfulness and peace as you learn to create an Earth Altar by the healing waters of Mercy by the Sea.
Creating Earth Altars offers you a way to touch the Earth with healing and blessing while finding deep soul connection to the planet. Working only with found objects: Stones, fallen leaves, twigs, feathers, shells, seaweed and other natural findings, you will leave only footprints and take only pictures. With reverence for Earth, you will work with the sacred mandala form and embrace the gifts of impermanence.
The creative process and the practice of process art open a channel for you to receive Earth wisdom and insight into the seasons, life cycles and nature’s rhythms. Your day may include intentions to heal and bless the Earth or to receive from the Earth the calming, soothing healing you may seek. This new day program is inspired by Mercy by the Sea’s vision to honor ourselves, each other, Earth and the sacredness of creation.
No prior experience is necessary. You will be outdoors so dress for the weather and bring a folding chair and/or a blanket on which to sit.
