"Christ has no body now, but yours. No hands, no feet on earth, but yours.
Yours are the eyes with which Christ looks Compassion on the world.
Yours are the feet with which Christ walks to do good.
Yours are the hands with which Christ blesses the world." – St. Teresa of Avila
March 3 - Three Teresa's of Renown
Let's explore the fascinating differences among three Teresa's: St. Teresa of Avila (Spain), St. Therese of Lisieux (France), St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta (Albania and India). Their lives, times and cultures were extremely diverse; yet they each echo -- beautifully and uniquely -- the holiness of Jesus’ kind, compassionate and loving model. Come and ponder in story and prayer what we may learn from these three spiritual luminaries. What qualities might we emulate as we gather to honor them? How might our spirituality be enriched and stretched this Lenten season by their practical lessons and remarkable examples?
March 10 - Hildegarde, Wonder Woman of Bingen
Please come and be amazed at the bold life and talent of this icon of womanly strength, St. Hildegarde of Bingen (Germany). There is much for us to marvel about and learn, since she is one of the newest female Doctors of the Church. Way ahead of her time, St. Hildegarde reveals her deep intuitive sense of nutrition, medical knowledge and Earth. She shines with a deep spirituality and an artistic and musical giftedness. What inspiration might we draw for our own lives and personal path today? We will have time for discussion, prayer and reflection to enhance our Lenten practices and deepen our faith.
March 17 - Patrick of Ireland, Favorite of Many
What a great way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day— looking together at the Saint for all ages, St. Patrick. We will explore his surprising life story and the unusual twists and turns it took, as we also include time for prayer, reflection and conversation. Is it possible that St. Patrick’s life may shine some new light on our own journeys as we head into an unknown future? May our Lenten journey this year be stirred and animated by such a beloved Saint. Whether you wear something green today or not, give yourself the gift of praying with St. Patrick.
