Exploring Abundance through Nature Journaling
with Jan Blencowe
Gift yourself with time to slow down and stroll in the warm autumn sun, breathe in the scent of the salt air, marvel at the colors of autumn and gather treasures from the earth. Allow your heart to expand and your creativity to gently bubble to the surface.
Every year, the Earth teaches us about abundance. Trees laden with fruit; oaks and hickories heavy with nuts; and wildflowers releasing seeds by the thousands. Revel in the gifts of the season and gently tend your creativity as you gather seeds, pods and colored leaves to record in your nature journal.
As a group we'll explore the theme of abundance and what Earth wisdom we can gain from observing nature in this season. You'll not only have time to work outdoors in your nature journal but also time to explore and marvel at the many ways nature demonstrates and trusts the process of extravagant giving and abundance.
This nature journal workshop will renew and refresh your spirit and nurture your creativity.
Simple, easy pen and watercolor techniques will be taught. As you explore nature, your pen will glide on the page and your watercolors will mix and mingle. All levels are welcome, no prior art or nature journaling experience is necessary. We gather rain or shine, with indoor activities should it be raining.
The program will be held on Saturday, October 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The $75 fee includes the program and lunch.
Participants should bring a sketchbook with 140 lb. watercolor paper in it; all other materials will be supplied. For questions about supplies, contact Jan at jan.blencowe@comcast.
