Journey Into Stillness: A Contemplative Weekend

with Claire Rusowicz and Anne Simpkinson

Silence and inner stillness allow us to re-member the disparate parts of ourselves, to gather our scattered energies and connect with our deepest needs and yearnings, with what is truly meaningful in our lives, what gives us joy and contentment.

In order to "know" who we are beyond what we do requires intention, trust and companions along the way who will encourage and support us.  Those elements plus a beautiful and serene setting await you at Mercy by the Sea.

This weekend, anchored in the practice of Centering Prayer and silence, will afford time to rest in body and rest in God.  There will be scheduled times for prayer, chanting and a labyrinth walk, but also open time for optional activities such as journaling, artwork, reading, gazing out over the waters of Long Island Sound, listening to the birds, even napping. No Centering Prayer experience is required. This weekend is for those who may be interested in Centering Prayer, beginners and long-time practitioners.

The retreat will begin on Friday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and end on Sunday, July 22, at 11 a.m. The cost of the weekend is $300, which includes the program, single room with private bath and all meals, from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast.

Come join us for a weekend of peace and quiet, prayer and contemplation.

You do not have to
Look for anything, just
You do not have to
Listen for specific
Sounds, just
You do not have to
Accomplish anything, just
And in the
Looking, and the
Listening, and the
Being, find
