Freed to Follow the Breath of the Spirit: Models of Discernment
with Fr. Terrence Moran
Many spiritual directors have training in the Ignatian model of discernment. This workshop will supplement the Ignatian style of discernment with the investigation of the discernment styles of other traditions.
We enrich our understanding and practice of discernment by reflecting on insights of the Desert Fathers and Mothers; the Benedictine, Franciscan, Salesian and Vincentian traditions; and perspectives from contemporary feminist writers and explorers of the new cosmology.
The day, which will include input, conversation and time for individual reflection, will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The $50 fee covers both the program and lunch.
Fr. Terrence Moran has ministered in spiritual direction, retreats and the training of spiritual directors in both English and Spanish for more than 40 years. For six years he was chair of the Board of Spiritual Directors International. He currently ministers as the Director of the Office of Peace, Justice and Ecological Integrity of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth.
